Read more… ------------------------------------------------------------ Discerno II active stage launched in France The 2 French partners of the Discerno + project CEEP France and the Fédération des Sem, invited their members to an information meeting last 6 December in Paris. Public SMEs involved in the works of the various sectors such as housing, urban development, transport, waste or “parking” were present. Their representatives unanimously stressed that in a more and more competitive context, obtaining a label regarding corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSER) will rapidly become unavoidable for public SME. Many of those enterprises are already active in the field of CSR, and for others Discerno is a good opportunity to get on the board. Many participants asked for the indicators to be simple, more “qualitative” than “quantitative”, and more transversal than sectoral. Most of those enterprises declared themselves ready to participate from January 2008 to the online questionnaire, in order to be able to be candidate for the attribution of the label. Around a hundred managers attended this seminar. A lot of very interesting testimonies and analysis were presented by experts, university teachers and enterprises managers. All the statements expressed a common view: local utilities are improving their services.
